Ring O' Bells pub

Frodsham pub The Ring O' Bells has announced that it will be opening its garden for takeaway customers who wish to sit outside in the sunshine.

Although the pub won't be opening fully until May 17, it is continuing its successful lockdown takeaway menu from Thursday to Saturday, 4pm-6pm and on Sundays from 12pm until 5pm. Those collecting their orders are welcome to sit in the garden during these hours.

Sian Day is standing for the Green Party

As we draw closer to the local elections on Thursday 6 May, Frodsham Nub News has been interviewing those standing for Frodsham ward councillor on Cheshire West and Chester Council, hearing more about their key priorities and what they would hope to achieve if elected.

Most recently, we spoke to Green Party candidate, Sian Day. Having lived in Frodsham for nearly 10 years, Sian has contributed to several local community and voluntary sector groups, from the Youth Club to Climate Action Frodsham and, more recently, Frodsham Root Network.

Manley Copse today (April 21)

At the end of March, many local residents and walkers in Overton and Five Crosses ward were intrigued and happy to see the paths and seating areas of Manley Road Copse being made more accessible for visitors, as maintenance work was carried out to spruce up the space.

Work has continued in earnest since then, and the Copse is looking like a very welcoming place for people to come and sit, meet, socialise and picnic!

As well as Frodsham's non-essential shops, hairdressers and outdoor hospitality, April 12 was also the day that local tattoo parlours were allowed to reopen.

Local tattoo artist, Billie Jo English, was excited both to return to her Q Bee Studios 44 on Main Street, and to share her new creative offerings and artworks with customers old and new.

Lockdown might finally be lifting, but Frodsham and District Open Hands support group is still here for any local residents who might be in need of a little extra help.

Set up during the first national lockdown by Frodsham Churches Together, Frodsham Town Council and a team of local volunteers, Frodsham Open Hands has been running errands for isolating or vulnerable residents for the past year.

Helsby Parish Council is encouraging the village's residents and community organisations to share pictures of their lockdown experiences for the new 'Helsby, the Art of Here' initiative.

Having received funding for an arts project in the village, the Parish Council acquired a display screen, through which they planned to reflect the way in which the community has reacted to and coped with the coronavirus pandemic.
