Morrisons is offering school teachers a 10% discount

On Monday 2nd November, Frodsham Morrisons will join other stores around the country in offering a 10% discount for school teachers.

All primary and secondary school staff, including office staff and caretakers, will be eligible for this reward if they show their photo ID at the checkout. This reward will be available until 3rd January 2021.

Halloween is looking very different this year

As the number of Covid-19 infection rates continue to rise across the county, members of the public are being encouraged to find other ways to celebrate the spooky festivities safely this Halloween.

That's the message from Cheshire Police, who also want to dissuade people from trick or treating on Halloween night to avoid people mixing in large groups or knocking on the doors of those who are self-isolating.

All Cheshire West testing sites are now running at capacity

A report into Cheshire West's coronavirus test and trace system has suggested the council look into opening its own 'fully localised' scheme.

The report, conducted by CWAC's Covid-19 scrutiny committee, highlighted capacity issues in saying that 'some of the recent delays in receiving test results back were as a result of lack of [laboratory] capacity'.

Freda will be turning 100 on November 16th

The people of Frodsham have been sending an array of thoughtful cards and presents to Newton Hall Care Home, to help 99-year-old resident, Freda Vaughn, celebrate her milestone birthday on 16th November.

Earlier this month, Newton Hall's Activities Coordinator, Jane Holmes, took to social media to invite local people to send Freda a card to congratulate her on 'such a monumental birthday'.

There were 27 new cases confirmed in Frodsham last week

In the week leading up to October 25th, 27 Frodsham residents tested positive for coronavirus, bringing the rate up to 290.60 per 100,000 people.

Meanwhile, in the previous week - ending Sunday 18th October - 22 new infections made for a rate of 236.79 per 100,000.
