The Christmas in Frodsham working group are encouraging local people to write cards for care home residents

The Christmas in Frodsham working group are inviting local people to write cards for care home residents in Frodsham, Helsby and Kingsley, to help brighten the end of a difficult year.

With the help of the special 'post boxes' which have been put in place inside 15 local businesses, including Flowers by Jenny Penny, Care Love Pamper and Jilly's Breakfast and Lunch, you can send your card without having to pay for postage.

Cheshire West's coronavirus infection rate is in decline, but is expected to rise again once lockdown is lifted.

Following the announcement that both Cheshire West and Cheshire East councils will be placed in Tier 2 at the end of lockdown, it's natural to assume that that means the county will have a Tier 2 Christmas.

However, the announcement was also accompanied by a promise from health Secretary Matt Hancock that each area's position will be reviewed in a fortnight, so there is scope for boroughs to move up and down the system.

The Honeywell distribution centre would be demolished and replaced by the new development

Helsby Parish Council has objected for a second time to a planning application proposing the construction of a 245 dwelling development at Cable Drive in Helsby.

The warehouse buildings currently occupying the site would be demolished, and replaced by flats, semi-detached and detached houses, with a small area of open public space providing a 'buffer' to Hornsmill Brook.

Just a stone's throw from Frodsham and Helsby, this walk is gentle, undulating, and extremely muddy in parts!

On Commonside, just off Manley Road, there is a lay-by with space for about five cars on the side of the road. This is where the Sandstone Trail crosses over the lane, and you will know you have arrived when you see a fallen oak tree at the entrance to a field.
