St Laurence Church is planning a range of fundraising events for Christian Aid Week, which will take place between 10 and 16 May.

This year, Christian Aid is working with a local partner in Kenya to build earth dams designed to catch precious rainwater and help communities withstand the unpredictable weather patterns caused by climate change.

At 15:30, fire engines from Powey Lane and Ellesmere Port were called to a shed well alight at a property on the road. Wearing breathing apparatus, crews used a hose reel to put out the flames.
