Saltworks skate park

Waterside ward residents wishing to develop and enhance community use of Saltworks Farm Playing Fields have now successfully formed a committee with a constitution, enabling them to apply for grant funding from organisations such as the Marshes Community Benefit Fund.

In recent months, a group of local residents have been encouraging members of the community – young and old – to come together around Saltworks, spending many evenings and weekends clearing litter from the site and engaging with the young people that use it.

Artisan in the Park will take place on the lawn in front of Castle Park House on Saturday 1 May

The Artisan Green restaurant team are making their final preparations for this weekend's exciting Artisan in the Park event: an afternoon of live music, cocktails and good food.

From 1pm until 7pm on Saturday (1 May), Artisan Green will be hopping across the road to Castle Park House lawn, where they will treat their guests to musical entertainment from Charlie Reader, Adam Williams and Misschief Acoustic.

A former teacher from Frodsham who sexually abused boys at a private school in Norwich over more than a decade has been given a 16-year sentence at Norwich Crown Court yesterday (Wednesday 28 April 2021).

This follows an investigation by Norfolk Constabulary's Child Abuse Investigation Unit which resulted in John Foxley being charged with a series of offences including indecent assault on boys under the age of 14 and 16. The offences relate to five pupils from the school in Bracondale, Norwich, during the early 1980s through to 1990.

At present, the Town Mayor is appointed according to seniority, that is, the number of years a councillor has served, either from the date that they were elected to the Council or the date of their last been made Mayor.

The library will be open for browsing and computer access on Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays from 10am until 1pm, and on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 2pm until 6pm.

The Daniel Adamson steamship returned to Sutton Weaver yesterday (Wednesday), after an extended stay in Liverpool for the duration of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Art Deco ship, known by nearly everyone as 'The Danny', will begin its 2021 cruise programme in July, and will be offering a new Acton Bridge to Ellesmere Port route, sailing past landmarks such as Sutton Weaver Swing Bridge and Stanlow Oil Refinery on its way.
