A member of staff from Frodsham Library has received national acclaim after winning UNISON's Local Service Champion Award.

Jenny Evans is a Senior Customer Service Representative at Frodsham Library and has worked for libraries for 40 years. Just one winner and two runners-up were selected from over 800 applications from local authority staff.

Conservative candidate, John Dwyer, has been elected as Cheshire's next Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC).

Dwyer obtained 44.55 per cent of the first preference vote, while closest opponent and current PCC, David Keane, received 37.28 per cent.

Conservative candidate, Chris Basey, has been elected as Frodsham ward councillor on Cheshire West and Chester Council.

Chris secured 1,481 votes in the election, receiving just under 200 votes more than closest opponent Mike Garvey, representing Labour, who had 1,296.
