Cheshire West and Chester Council do not know whether new restrictions on household mixing will be introduced

Cheshire West and Chester Council are still waiting to receive a response from the government regarding its appeal for tighter restrictions on household mixing.

During last night's Covid-19 Outbreak Board meeting, Council Chief Executive, Andrew Lewis, said that he and Ian Ashworth, Director of Public Health, had this week been involved in "a number of detailed conversations" with government officials and the Chief Medical Officer.

Castle Park Arts Centre volunteers are working to resurrect the old sensory garden to the side of the café courtyard.

A group of volunteer gardeners, including Castle Park trustee Peter Vickery, are in the process of redeveloping a forgotten corner of the Park gardens.

The plot, which sits to the side of the Arts Centre courtyard, was made into a sensory garden back in 1987. However, when the neighbouring tennis court was repurposed as a playground in 2010, it fell into disuse and was buried under mounds of earth.

In this free online event, Jane Corry will discuss her fascinating career as a novelist

Tonight from 7pm, best-selling author Jane Corry will be taking part in a free online Q&A session, organised by Cheshire West and Chester Libraries.

This event forms part of Libraries Week, which aims to celebrate the role of libraries in UK book culture. In the hour-long discussion, Jane will take listeners through her own career, as well as talking about becoming a published author.

15,841 positive cases of COVID-19 confirmed in the week to 2 October 2020 were not included in national statistics or entered into the national Test and Trace system.

Cheshire West and Chester Council are trying to contact any local people who have been affected by the nation-wide error in the counting of Covid-19 cases which occurred last week.

The government recently admitted that, in the week leading up to 2nd October, 15,841 positive coronavirus cases were neither included in national statistics nor entered into the Test and Trace system.

Frodsham ward councillor Andrew Dawson announced yesterday that he will resign from Cheshire West and Chester Council to assume a new post in the Falklands Islands government.

Cllr Dawson currently represents Frodsham on Cheshire West and Chester Council, and is one of the Lakes ward councillors on Frodsham Town Council.
