If you are passing through Manley or Mouldsworth this month, watch out for the scarecrows that will be popping up around the villages!

Ashton Hayes, Mouldsworth and Manley Scarecrow Trail is back again for another year, this time following the theme of 'Animal Kingdom'.

The Trail will begin on Saturday 17 July and last until the end of the month.

Entrants will be judged in the following categories:

- Best interpretation of the theme

- Most imaginative display

- Highest craftsmanship shown

- Best use of reusable and recycled materials

- Most visual impact overall

A Champion of champions will be selected from the winners of these awards.

There will also be a public vote to decide the people's choice winner. This year, as well as the ability to vote online, you will also be able to pick up a voting form from the community shop in Ashton Hayes.

So, if you're planning a weekend walk sometime soon, why not take a wander through the animal kingdom on your doorstep?

You can find out more on the Trail website.
