RESIDENTS have be reminded they have just over a couple of weeks to have their say on plans to improve the pedestrian and cycling route between Frodsham and Helsby.
Cheshire West and Chester Council has secured funding from the government's Active Travel Fund to undertake a number of cycling improvements, which have been earmarked as priorities in the council's Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan.
These include a proposal to improve links between Helsby and Frodsham.
The works would start on the A56 Chester Road in Helsby, to the west of Godscroft Lane, with the introduction of a Toucan Crossing and continue up to Frodsham railway bridge.
They include:
- a cycle track on both sides of the A56 protected from traffic by a kerbed barrier.- a shared pedestrian and cycle path up to Matty's Lane.
- a shared pedestrian and cycle path up to the Carriage Drive junction.- an upgrade to a bus shelter on the north eastern side of the A56
- widening of the north western footway From Dig Lane to the railway bridge- and installation of coloured surfacing across junctions with Woodhouses Lane, Woodhouses Park and Kings Church.
More detailed information about the scheme can be found on Cheshire West and Chester's consultation page.
And you can have your say on the proposals, for which the four-week consultation period ends on February 21, by clicking here.
