Labour MP Mike Amesbury is celebrating with our town, after securing the future for a Frodsham park.

Congratulations to campaigners in Frodsham after winning their fight for Green Gates to return to its original use as a play area.

Frodsham Town Council will now work alongside Green Gates Community Project to develop the green space in Ship Street as a multigenerational amenity for residents.

There will be a focus on the needs of children under the age of 12 – with play equipment to be reinstated – as well as the elderly. But the idea is to create a welcoming, safe space for everyone.

What a great win for the community and well done to the tireless campaigners who refused to give up on their ambition.

I backed the campaign and have visited Green Gates many times, including earlier this year with then Labour council candidate Mike Garvey and Shadow Policing Minister Sarah Jones MP (pictured).
