The long-awaited day is finally here: Frodsham's Tributes on the Hill festival is back!

After a year's hiatus and then a false start earlier this month, the weekend-long musical event began this afternoon (Friday), kicking off with a brilliant set from Charlie Reader.

Charlie, who has just received his British Empire Medal for his NHS fundraising efforts, told Frodsham Nub News that he was delighted to be back up on the stage, and to see everyone dancing and singing along despite the drizzly weather.

Charlie will be followed later this evening by acts paying tribute to Oasis, The Killers and The Smiths, who recently performed at Spike Island in Widnes.

Tomorrow Tributes on the Hill will be back again with its Family Fun Day, featuring tributes to Adele, Jessie J, Stereophonics and more.

Meanwhile, Sunday's NHS Appreciation Day will include music from Bruce Springsteen, Michael Jackson and, as the festival's grand finale, the UK's no.1 Take That tribute band, Rule the World.

While you listen to all your favourite songs, you can also enjoy food and drink from stalls and trailers including: Noodle City, Vintage Ice Cream, The Doughnut Whisperer, It's all Greek to Me, Piri Piri Chicken and more.

This year, Tributes on the Hill's chosen charity is Stick 'n' Step, who support children with cerebral palsy.

"Stick 'n' Step supports more than 104 children every single week," said community fundraiser, Kelly, who is representing the charity at Tributes on the Hill this weekend.

"We provide conductive education to help children become more mobile, more independent and to gain in confidence.

"Children come to us having been told they'll never walk, and with our help, they end up taking their first steps.

"We receive no government funding and we offer our services for free. It costs us £6,500 per child per year, and so it's great to be here this weekend to let people know how they can get involved and support us."

Stick 'n' Step will be selling raffle tickets over the whole weekend, and there are some great prizes to be won!
