Train timetable changes for Frodsham and Helsby come into effect today

Today, Sunday 13th December, is the first day of the rail industry's altered winter timetable, which involves some changes to trains serving Frodsham and Helsby.

On the Chester to Manchester Airport line, there will still be an hourly Transport for Wales service, which will leave Chester around 10 to the hour.

Therefore, on weekday mornings, there will be a train stopping at Manchester Oxford Road and Manchester Piccadilly at 07:02 from Helsby and 07:06 from Frodsham, as well as one at 07:59 and 08:03 respectively.

However, there will also be a Northern service at 07:29 from Helsby and 07:33 from Frodsham, arriving in Manchester Victoria at 08:17.

This is followed by an 08:32/08:36 service, stopping in Victoria at 09:19.

The service leaving Helsby at 07:21 and stopping at Manchester Oxford Road will no longer be running.

Meanwhile, there will be a return service leaving Manchester Piccadilly at 16:52, arriving in Frodsham at 17:40 Helsby at 17:44.

Another service will leave Manchester Victoria at 17:15, stopping at Frodsham at 17:59 and Helsby at 18:03.

The next Manchester Piccadilly train departs at 17:52, arriving in Frodsham and Helsby around 18:45.

Services will continue into the evening on Christmas Eve, but there will be no service on Christmas or Boxing Day. Trains will then resume on their normal Sunday timetable on December 27th.
