Helsby Running Club has raised nearly £2,500 for local hospices in place of the Four Villages Half Marathon 2021, which has been cancelled due to Covid-19.

Having set up a JustGiving page, the Club gave £1,000 from their own funds, and asked runners to donate some of this year's saved race fees to Halton Haven Hospice and Hospice of the Good Shepherd.

So far, £2,405 has been raised for these very worthy causes.

The Essar Four Villages Half Marathon, which has been running since 1982, would normally have taken place on Sunday 17 January, but was made impossible by lockdown restrictions.
