Ex air stewards, Adrian Leary and Paul Jones, are still flying high today, as they welcome their old colleagues to their gifts, interiors and coffee shop, Me & Mr Jones, to mark the anniversary of the collapse of Thomas Cook.
Adrian and Paul wanted to celebrate the sense of community and friendship that has defined their career in the airline industry by offering free coffee and cake to crew members from airlines no longer with us - as long as they are wearing their uniform!
This Wednesday (23rd) marked 12 months since the end of Thomas Cook, "so we just thought this would be something nice to do for our colleagues, to invite them down to meet up [and] to reminisce about old times," Paul said.
"I think we've probably got 200 years of flying experience stood in front of us!
"The response from the local people of Frodsham has just been unbelievable; we'll been so well supported, it's just been incredible."
Pilot, Jane Paros, said: "It's just so wonderful to see friends of mine, that have become friends over the last 25 years, drawn here by Me & Mr Jones."
"We think it's wonderful that they've [...] put all the love they had for flying into this perfect little spot," added Gilly Bailey, who has been working in the airline industry for over 40 years.
Me & Mr Jones will continue this offer until Tuesday 29th September.
The shop is open daily, except Wednesdays, from 10.30am to 5pm offering takeaway coffee, cakes and snacks. Adrian and Paul are busy working on plans to open the eat-in area in the not too distant future.
Me & Mr Jones can be contacted on 01928 890549.
