The owner of a local independent business is encouraging people to 'shop small' this Christmas, to help lessen the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
Becci Moore, who runs Quill Paper Scissors, would usually visit artisan markets and run workshops to sell her hand-made cards, bunting and gifts.
"But no longer!" she says. "In fact, I have only been able to do one market and one workshop all year.
"I currently sell my lino-printed cards and rustic wooden houses locally in JTO Vintage and the Old Bank Tea Rooms in Helsby, but that is closing along with lots of other small businesses on Thursday."
"It's going to be a tough time ahead for all small businesses, with the next lockdown," Becci said.
So, "Before you head over to large online ordering, have a look at Etsy or Folksy that support small creative makers.
"There's a lot of talent out there, and loads of individual handcrafted businesses that need support. So shop small this Christmas."
Quill Paper Scissors offers a range of simple, original birthday and Christmas card designs, as well as colourful and quirky model houses, made from recycled wood where possible.
Becci can even create a bespoke miniature version of your own house: the perfect memento of happy home memories!
[I]Becci's beautiful cards, bunting and decorations are a great gift idea for friends and family. You can find her online shop here.
