A local wedding and prom dress business has just opened a shop in Frodsham.

Once located in Helsby, Ellen Thomas Occasions can now be found at 1c Langdale Way, next to the newly refurbished Top Shop.

Joined by her gorgeous 'shop dog', Daisy, owner Tracy stocks a wide range of beautifully embellished Prom Frocks and Tiffany's prom and bridesmaid dresses, as well as bridal designs from award-winning British talents such as Donna Lee, House of Nicholas and Miranda Templeton.

Customers are welcome to come and browse the dresses on offer, although brides-to-be can also choose to book an appointment if they would like more time to try on the dress of their dreams!

Ellen Thomas can also provide an in-house adjustment and alteration service, to make sure that the dress is just right for the big day.

Now that she is settling into her new shop, Tracy has also expanded her offering into John Charles and Condici mother-of-the-bride or groom and other occasion wear.

"I am also hoping to offer a range of party and race day outfits," said Tracy. "My aim is to become an all-rounder dress shop for all sorts of special events.

"I'm very excited to be here in Frodsham; everyone has made me feel really welcome and it's nice to see businesses doing well here on Langdale Way.

Tracy is now planning an open day event in July, complete with cupcakes and fizz, to celebrate this new chapter in the life of her business.

A little bit of history

Now, before you rush off to explore Tracy's lovely dresses, you may be wondering where the Ellen Thomas name originates from.

"Ellen is my mum's name," Tracy explains, "and both my dad and son are called Thomas. On the window you will also notice a scroll decoration containing the letter 'H', and that's for my daughter, Holly."

And while Daisy the dog might not feature on the sign outside, she will definitely stick in your mind as the sweetest little shop assistant there ever was!
