Frodsham Leisure Centre is said to be 'not fit for purpose'

You still have until November 1st to take part in Cheshire West and Chester Council's public consultation on the future of Frodsham Leisure Centre.

If you would like to find out more about the proposals put forward by local provider, Brio, there are also two information sessions taking place via Microsoft Teams.

The first will begin at 6pm tonight (Monday 19th October), and the second will be on Monday 26th October at 3pm.

In the supporting document provided by Cheshire West to give background information on the Leisure Centre, Brio deemed the facility 'not fit for purpose'.

'Plans to provide a sustainable health, leisure, wellbeing and library service to the Frodsham/Helsby area would be developed, maximising the use of community facilities and external funding opportunities,' it continued.

'Community-based activity sessions could be delivered in identified areas in Frodsham/ Helsby using local facilities, green spaces and other options to provide activities at a more local level. This could include a fitness class being delivered in the community.'

Brio's finalised proposals for the future of its Cheshire services, including Frodsham Leisure Centre, will be discussed in a Cheshire West and Chester Council Cabinet meeting in November.
