Job of the Week: Device Driver Tester

Avanti Recruitment are working with a highly regarded software house that produce a mission critical product which is used on production lines across the world. ]

They are looking for a Device Driver Tester to play a critical role within the business / development team. Their product is regarded as 'best in class' and many of the world's largest and most well-known brands rely on their product to ensure their manufacturing is of high quality.

This role is about bringing focus to the preparation of technical information to assist the driver development process and to carry out stringent structured testing of the driver software with the device to prove its successful functionality for a customer project.

The role suits someone of a strong technical background in software engineering, networked communications and structured testing. The role is very varied and requires liaison with both the software developers, project operations, device vendor and the customer, all within a single project.

Key Skills:

- Experience of testing equipment within a networked environment

- Knowledge / interest of low-level device communications

- Device testing

- Knowledge of C#

Desirable Skills:

- Degree in Engineering / Computer Science

- Electrical / Mechanical background

- Visual Studio

- Experience of TCP/RS232, embedded software and/or firmware development

- Experience of industrial and communication protocols
