This weekend marked the beginning of Helsby's Ho Ho Scarecrow event, which involves a trail of over 70 displays made by village residents.

For this, the second year of the scarecrow trail, the theme is Children's Books, and so participants were tasked with recreating characters or scenes from their favourite childhood stories.

The result is an impressive array of SpongeBob SquarePants, fantastic foxes and tigers coming to tea, with some sweets and surprises to be found along the way.

At the end of the week, there will be prizes awarded for the best residential scarecrow, for the best commercial scarecrow, and for the best community group scarecrow.

"Once again, an amazing initiative by the residents for the residents of Helsby," said the event's organisers, the Ho Ho Helsby volunteer group.

"A huge thanks to everyone involved in making this event a week to remember in such an awful 2020."

"Helsby has smashed Halloween!"

Helsby's scarecrows will only be around until 31st October, so don't miss out on this fun Halloween event!
