In a year which posed the ultimate challenge for the majority of our local businesses, the thought of starting out in the hospitality industry may seem terrifying.

Not for Julie Smith, who set up her Helsby café, Julie's Kitchen, on the eve of the second national lockdown!

Julie's Kitchen, which can be found at Horns Farm Garage on Chester Road, Helsby, offers all the cooked breakfast and lunch combinations you can think of.

Thanks to her tempting menu, popular recipes and handy delivery option, Julie has managed to establish her business, even though her customers are currently stuck at home.

"I am a local girl and I live in Frodsham on Main Street," Julie tells me.

"We opened Julie's Kitchen on 2 November, just before yet another lockdown! But I've had lots of good reviews for my breakfasts as I make them fresh to order.

"I also run homemade weekly specials. This week's was beef stew and dumplings, which I've brought back due to popular demand!"

Julie's Kitchen is open from Tuesday to Saturday, 8am – 2pm, and offers free delivery to Helsby, Frodsham and Runcorn so that, while we can't go to her, her breakfasts can come to us.

To keep up with Julie's weekly specials, you can follow her Facebook page.

Orders can be placed by ringing 07368 698135, preferably the day before or first thing in the morning to guarantee that you get your delivery on time.
