Frodsham Town Council have this week objected to a planning application seeking to transform the town's former police station into a 'private boutique studio facility'.

The building, which is located on Ship Street, has been empty for several years, and was sold in 2019. The application had suggested the creation of a new facility offering movement therapy, pilates, fitness and dance classes.

Although eager to increase the prevalence of this type of business in Frodsham, the Town Council objected to the plans on the grounds that the building is in a conservation area, and does not possess a large enough car park for its proposed purposes.

There is no space for overflow parking, and any cars parked on the street would restrict resident and emergency vehicle access.

Councillors were also concerned that there may be a fuel storage tank on the site which was previously used by the police to service their vehicles.
