Frodsham Hill War Memorial then and now

When we look at this photo of Frodsham's Cenotaph Field in 1964, we always wonder about the pair sitting in the foreground.
Are they a couple or just friends? What are they talking about? How did they come to be sitting there?
And then there's the toddler taking baby steps towards the Memorial in the distance. Who did they grow up to be?
When this picture was taken, Frodsham War Memorial had been around for about 43 years.
As the landscape around it has altered quite drastically in recent decades, the cenotaph remains largely unchanged, a quiet sentinel watching over the town and its people.
We wonder how its Overton Hill home will look 50 years from now...
