With the new lockdown looming, pub nights, cinema trips and shopping sprees are on hold once again.

But, as the festive season approaches, you can now temporarily escape the inside of your house by spending a pleasant hour picking out your perfect Christmas tree from Frodsham Christmas Trees.

As long as they follow Covid-secure practices, garden services like Frodsham Christmas Trees can remain open from Thursday.

Customers can therefore book appointments throughout November to go along and choose from the farm's thousands of trees, which they can then have delivered to their home, ready for the big day.

The trees will only be cut once they have a home to go to, so don't worry If you are not able to visit this month, "we are not going to run out!" says Frodsham Christmas Trees' Lynn Riley.

"We've got various generations of trees planted to ensure we have stock coming through in years to come," she adds.

Frodsham Christmas Trees differ from other suppliers in that many big firms ship in pre-cut trees ready to go on sale as early as this week.

So, "you hear all these terrible stories of people who have got no needles on the tree on Christmas morning!" says Lynn.

Meanwhile, Frodsham Christmas Trees are left to grow until the day they are delivered, meaning that they will look spruced and smart for longer.

These trees were planted in Frodsham a decade ago, and are insecticide-free. The only pest-control service the trees receive comes in the form of the farm's flock of Shropshire sheep, who graze in the field without damaging the buds growing on the branches.

In the 10 years that they have been growing on their hilly field, the trees have also been sucking carbon dioxide out of the local atmosphere, while releasing great quantities of oxygen.

So, as well as being conveniently located, they are also an environmentally friendly choice for Christmas.
