Ex air stewards Paul Jones and Adrian Leary are flying high as their recently-opened Frodsham-based interiors, gift and coffee shop, Me & Mr Jones, proves to be a big success with the locals.

Paul and Ade, a couple in real life as well as in business, worked together for many years as air stewards with Thomas Cook.

They planned to continue their passion for serving customers by opening up a boutique coffee shop after the pair were made redundant from the airline in September 2019.

The chocks were off! They had secured premises at The Old Ticket Office on Frodsham Train Station and were ready for take-off when Covid-19 struck!

As lockdown hit, this intrepid pair of adventurers were determined not to let their plans and hard work fly out of the window. So they took advantage of the extra time to learn, plan and source the best suppliers, using local wherever possible.

With their unique approach and flair for hospitality, Paul and Ade are testament that success really can come out of adversity.

From Wednesday 23 - Tuesday 29 September, they will be celebrating life after redundancy and aviation by wearing their Thomas Cook uniforms to work to serve free coffee and cake to anyone turning up wearing a uniform from an airline no longer with us.

This date marks the anniversary of the closure of Thomas Cook.

"We want to see as much airline glamour as possible," say the pair.

Me & Mr Jones is open daily, except Wednesdays, from 10.30am to 5pm offering takeaway coffee, cakes and snacks. They are busy working on plans to open the eat-in area in the not too distant future.

Me & Mr Jones can be contacted on 01928 890549.
