Fire crews were called to a flooded Helsby flat

Last night (7th December) firefighters were called to a flooded ground floor flat in Helsby.

Shortly before 9pm, a crew from Powey Lane was sent to the Chester Road flat, where a leaking water pipe had caused part of the ceiling to collapse and was affecting the electrics.

Firefighters stopped the leak by isolating the water at the source.

Crews also isolated the electrics until a qualified electrician could attend the scene to conduct a full assessment.

Firefighters were detained at the scene for around one hour and 15 minutes.
