Fire crew attends fire involving a van in Helsby

Yesterday afternoon (Monday 22 February), one fire engine from Frodsham was called to a fire involving a van in Helsby.
At around 1.50pm firefighters were informed of smoke coming from under the bonnet of the stationary vehicle in Dove Close.
On arrival the crew discovered that the smoke was caused by a fire in the vehicle's engine compartment.
Firefighters extinguished the fire with a hose reel jet and made the vehicle safe. They were in attendance for around 20 minutes.
