Fire at The White Lion in Alvanley

Two fire engines attended The White Lion pub on Manley Road in Alvanley yesterday evening to extinguish a tumble dryer fire.

Crews used a hose reel to extinguish the flames as customers were evacuated from the premises as a precaution.

It took one hour and 50 minutes for the Fire and Rescue Service to be satisfied that the fire had not spread and that the building was safe.

The White Lion will now be closed until further notice while staff assess and repair the damage done.
