Today, we are taking a look at Castle Park Arts Centre's four new exhibitions, which begin on Wednesday (30 June).
'Our Shifting Landscape' is an exhibition of paintings, textiles, and mixed-media work by local artists Sue Marsden and Sophie Parr, inspired by the landscape. It can be found in Gallery 1.
In Gallery 2 is 'Drawing Aside the Journey', an exhibition of artworks by David Atherton.
Using a broad range of media – from pencil to paint and printmaking to mixed-media – this unique show encompasses twenty years of 'everyday life' to show things that have impressed, inspired or fascinated the artist.
Natural Progression's exhibition 'Ragtime' is in Gallery 3. It is based on the Art Nouveau and Art Deco periods and covers all aspects of these two very contrasting lifestyles.
Sandra Hepworth is in the Link Gallery with original textile art - embroidery and needle felting created with hand made, dyed fabrics including silk.
A Meet the Artists evening will be held on 2 July 2021, 7 – 9 pm in the courtyard with access to the exhibitions following social distancing guidance. All are welcome to attend.
You can list your local events, whether they be shows, films, sports fixtures, quiz nights, virtual markets, pub offers, choir rehearsals, or anything else, on our What's On page free of charge.
