An Ellesmere Port man has been jailed for stealing a car in Frodsham and attempting to take two other vehicles.
Stephen Prior, of Moorland Road, who was described as a "prolific offender" by the police, pleaded guilty to burglary, theft of a motor vehicle, theft from a person, vehicle interference, driving without insurance and driving without a licence.
He was jailed for a total of four years at Chester Crown Court on Friday (4th). He also received a driving ban for the same period of time.
On March 30th, Prior was caught on camera trying to break into a car on Fluin Lane. His attempts proving to be unsuccessful, he then broke into a house on Queensway and stole the Ford Grand C-Max that was parked outside.
The following day, he was captured once again on CCTV, as he stole a set of car keys from a garage in Little Sutton. However, the car they belonged to was not there, and so he left the scene empty-handed.
An officer at Chester Police Station then recognised Prior on the CCTV images, and he was arrested at his Ellesmere Port home, the stolen car being found on a nearby street.
David Keane, police and crime commissioner for Cheshire, said: "Offences like these have a devastating impact on victims and on the wider community.
"I would like to praise the work of all the officers who were involved in this investigation and helped to deliver justice for the victims.
"I hope that the outcomes of this case allows the victims to move forward with their lives and provides reassurance to local residents."
