Covid update: cases rising in Frodsham and Helsby but below Cheshire West average

In the week leading up to 15 July, 42 coronavirus cases were recorded in Frodsham, an increase of 61.5 per cent on the previous seven day period.

The town's infection rate currently stands at 458 per 100,000 people.

Meanwhile, in the area covering Helsby, Kingsley, Manley and Alvanley, 24 infections resulted in a rolling rate of 258 per 100,000.

In Cheshire West as a whole, 1,600 cases meant a rate of 466 per 100,000, up 37 per cent on the previous week.

The borough's infection rate still sits just above the UK average of 440 per 100,000 people.
