Covid update: case numbers still rising in Frodsham and Helsby

Last week, coronavirus case numbers in Frodsham and Helsby were at their highest level since January.

In the seven days leading up to 21 July, 41 cases were recorded in Frodsham, an increase of 10 on the previous week.

The town's rolling infection rate is currently 447 per 100,000 people, while that of Helsby & Kingsley sits at 366 per 100,000.

In the area covering these villages, 34 Covid cases were reported last week.

While local infection rates are still climbing, in Cheshire West as a whole they appear to have peaked.

In the week leading up to 21 July, our borough's total case numbers rose by just six per cent to 1,540. Meanwhile, the past seven days have seen 1,127 positive test results, representing a drop of 35 per cent.
