A new housing development planned for Frodsham's Cheshire Cheese pub will most likely be named Cheshire Cheese Court in a nod to the site's history.

The development, which involves the erection of six dwellings and the conversion of the pub to create a further dwelling, was approved in September.

While discussing the proposed name at this week's Planning Committee meeting Frodsham town councillors expressed their approval of the idea.

"I think it's a good name. It's keeping what was there alive in a way," said Cllr Bernie Wade.
