Which of Frodsham and Helsby's green spaces leave you feeling inspired? Might it be Woodhouse Hill, Helsby Quarry or maybe Castle Park?
Cheshire West and Chester Museums and Libraries are now asking you to share your photos of these spots for a new rolling online exhibition celebrating the beauty of our borough.
The exhibition, entitled My Cheshire, will include photographic contributions from people across the county who want to memorialise a place that means something to them.
Entries should be accompanied by a short piece of writing about the scene, whether that be a description, a poem or a few words about why you chose it.
To help inspire you Kate Harland, Museums and Heritage Manager has written a short poem to accompany her image of Waverton Gorse.
Once upon a spinning wheel, many spindles ago, the world stopped turning for a year or so.
The girl took to wandering and loved to explore the green lanes and byways close to her door. She savoured the old names of woodlands she crossed, the spinney, the rough, the garth and the moss.
In covert, common, waste and gorse, she built strongholds of calm on forested floors. Now for some housekeeping points. All photographs must be taken in landscape, and all locations should be named and publicly accessible. While capturing the image, photographers must stick to social distancing guidelines, and no people should appear within the frame. Images, (min 1MB, max 3MB) and written reflections, (max 60 words), to be submitted via email to: [email protected] The exhibition will begin this Friday, 26 February, and can be accessed on the West Cheshire Museums website.
