Does anyone remember the old George Inn that stood at 25 High Street?

The pub, captured here in the mid twentieth century, had been around since 1911 at least, at which time its landlord was a gentleman called Edmund Coker according to The Lost Pubs Project.

The George was one of many Cheshire pubs supplied by the St Helens brewery, Greenall Whitley & Co., whose history stretches back to 1762.

The building has for some years now been home to Frodsham Tandoori, which has just reopened its indoor spaces following the easing of lockdown!

Other pubs that have now been consigned to Frodsham's history books include The Aston Arms on Mill Lane and the Bridge Inn, which was destroyed by fire in 2004 after it closed down some months earlier.
