Frodsham Nub News aims to support our community, promoting shops, businesses, charities, clubs and sports groups.

In recent months, we have been profiling some of these local businesses and organisations regularly in a feature called 'Up Close In Frodsham'.

Today we caught up with Rachel Webster, founder of OLAH Creative UK.

Olah Creative, which was set up in 2019, produces hand printed clothes and accessories for adults and children, as well as fabric for crafts and clothing.

Rachel has a wide range of items on offer, from custom children's hoodies to personalised pencil cases, in all sorts of pretty colours and styles.

"I have always had a love for arts and crafts and studied Printed Textiles and Surface Decoration at university," Rachel says. "Before OLAH Creative I would make little bits at home, such as personalised cushions, buntings and calligraphy writing for friends and family.

"My children are getting that little bit older now and I wanted to share my passion for creativity so with the encouragement of my husband, I set up OLAH Creative.

"I am a mum to Harry (11) and Olivia (9), which created the name OLAH. I love coming up with unusual designs, combining my love for fashion and bringing other people's ideas to life.

"More recently I have begun to sell fabrics, which have proved really popular. I love to see other people's creations!"

In addition to her own clothing designs, Rachel is very happy to work with her customers to bring their ideas and requests to life.

This month, she is also sponsoring a #SewRecreateTheLook competition organised by S.O. Sew Dressmaking and Jen Legg Tees Creatives, two bloggers who love to share sewing tips and news of their handmade wardrobes.

"Both love fashion and recreating looks that inspire them," Rachel explains, "so why not encourage others to do the same?!

"The challenge is open to all sewists, from beginner to advanced, and it is taking place during the month of July.

"The piece you make can come from any source of inspiration: something high end or a replica of someone you follow.

This creative challenge will follow four stages: this week, creators are encouraged to share their sewing inspiration, while in Week 2, they will explore the fabric and pattern that they are using.

Then, in Week 3, they will post an update of their progress or a sneak peak of their garment, before the 'big reveal' of the finished piece on Saturday 31 July.

"This is a fun challenge and I just had to get involved," Rachel says. "So, I am sponsoring the challenge by donating some lovely gifts, and I also have a 10 per cent off code for everythinbg on my website.

Rachel's OLAH Creative discount code can be found on her Facebook and Instagram pages.
