Kingsley St Johns Primary School collect donations for Covid Time Capsule project

By The Editor   19th Apr 2021

Kingsley St Johns CE Aided Primary School are now taking donations for their Covid Time Capsule project in coordination with the Parish Council and the local community.

Containing all the trappings of the coronavirus era - from face masks to vaccine certificates to lockdown artwork - the capsule will give future generations a feel for what life was like during this 'unprecedented' year.

If Covid restrictions allow, the school are planning a community burial ceremony for July this year, after which time the capsule will be left undisturbed for 100 years, waiting for discovery by children of the future.

"They will learn all about our school, our village, the environment and, of course, the resilience and positivity within Kingsley during the pandemic," Kingsley St Johns said.

Kingsley residents wishing to find out more or to contribute to the capsule are encouraged to get in touch at [email protected] or by calling 01244 976181.
