To celebrate National Allotment week and 11 years since the opening of Frodsham Townfield Allotments, we are having an Open Day on Saturday 14th August from 12 pm till 4pm to raise awareness of the beauty of allotments and to raise much needed funds.
Committee member Mark Pinnington and his wife Jane want to thank all the local business for supporting our Open Day by donating fantastic raffle prizes. A big shout out to Cowards, Bargain Booze, Lusso Hair and Beauty, Paul the barbers, Whitmore and Whyte, Cheeky Ice Cream, Gleaves Garden Centre and Tesco Helsby & Widnes. Morrisons, Tesco, and Asda have also very kindly provided all the food for our barbecue on the day.
Mark's wife Jane is the Community Relations Coordinator for Home Instead in Frodsham. This summer Jane and Mark have been working hard on a raised bed, filling it with flower and vegetables for the Home Instead clients and CAREGivers to enjoy. Jane said “I am thrilled that our clients and their CAREGivers will be able to go to the allotment on a companionship call, sit and relax, chat with passers-by, and tend/harvest the bounty of wonderful vegetables. Councillor Lyn Riley will be attending the Open Day and will be officially opening The Home Instead raised bed.
You are all welcome to attend the Open Day, to have a look at the fabulous allotments, perhaps buy a burger, hot dog and a drink, and buy a few raffle tickets, and some of the produce that will be on offer.
