On July 26, Frodsham Town Council will discuss and vote on the future of Green Gates on Ship Street, deciding whether to reinstate the space as a park or, alternatively, to sell the land.

The Amenities Committee is recommending that the Council choose the first of these two options, after Green Gates Community Project members confirmed that they would be happy to work in partnership with FTC to maintain and protect the park.

At an Amenities Committee meeting on Tuesday 13 July, Cllr Bernie Wade said: "The past 18 months have highlighted the value of open green spaces for the health and well-being of us all.

"This topic has been rumbling along for the past three years and needs to have a conclusion or decision [made] as soon as possible."

A Green Gates options appraisal working group had put forward five options for the future of the land, including the creation of a community hub, but these have since been narrowed down to two.
