Local musician, Mark Bleasdale, has released a song aimed at raising awareness of issues surrounding men's mental health.
'Here I Am', which came out yesterday (Wednesday), was Mark's way of working through and expressing his own emotions, and showing others that they are not alone.
"Here I am, out on my own again," Mark sings. "I know you're trying to come and help, but if I let you in, would you understand?
"Here I am, can't hide the feeling. But the feelings don't make the man."
All proceeds from single sales will be donated to mental health charity Mind.
On Saturday (26 June), Mark will also be one of a group of local friends walking the entirety of the Sandstone Trail to raise money for this organisation, which provides support for anyone who is experiencing a mental health problem.
"The subject of mental health, and in particular the stigma attached to it, is a subject I feel strongly about," Mark explains. "It's my opinion that mental health should be viewed and talked about just like any other health issue.
"Writing about this subject in a song that allows people to have an insight into my personal life is a little daunting. However, music has always been my therapy so putting my thoughts to music works for me."
'Here I Am' will also be appearing on Tweacle Radio on Friday (25 June) between 4pm and 6pm, and, Don't Worry Be Indie on Saturday (26 June) between 3pm and 5pm and NSM, Wales between 10pm and 12am on Sunday.
You can find 'Here I Am' on Apple Music and Amazon Music.
