Brio Leisure's Frodsham Leisure Centre will be receiving an £110k investment from Cheshire West and Chester Council, allowing it undertake some much-needed improvements.

According to the Council, the project, to be delivered by Qwest, will ensure that the building remains fit for purpose and central to improving the health and wellbeing of the local community.  

The improvements to the centre will include a general refresh throughout the main areas, new flooring and improvements to the toilets and changing areas.

The work will also ensure that the current unused spaces comply with Covid safety measures, all aimed at improving the customer experience. 

Frodsham Leisure Centre is expected to remain open throughout the delivery of the work with short term access restrictions to affected areas. Work is due to commence soon and the centre is due to fully reopen from September 2021. 

Elly McFahn, Brio Leisure's Managing Director said: "We welcome this investment, not only to ensure Frodsham has fit for purpose facilities but to provide local people the opportunity to continue to improve their personal health and wellbeing post the Covid pandemic."

Cheshire West and Chester Council Leader, Cllr Louise Gittins, added: "It is important that Frodsham Leisure Centre has a general refresh whilst we work with the local community to develop options to help shape the future provision of leisure services in Frodsham and Helsby."

Frodsham MP, Mike Amesbury, commented: "I continue to argue Frodsham must have first class leisure, community and library facilities

"So, I'm pleased to learn the leisure centre is to receive £110,000 from Cheshire West and Chester Council for much-needed work.

"This is great news for the immediate future and the broader ambition remains."
